After been releasing in France on LeGrandBag (differ-ant), "dot" was also released in june in the UK through the pop label Summerhouse records and is also available on the virtuel swedish store Delicious Goldfish Records. As we're in the virtual world, Showstar is the first belgian band to join the prestigious power-pop indie american label Not Lame (good music for good people) and this is what Bruce Brodeen, boss of the label, says about it : "Import from Belgium! Mixtures of all kinds of appealing Not Lame-styled sounds. Bits of Supergrass, Teenage Fanclub, Blur-ish Britpop and Ash. Listen below and hear what we hear! Sadly, no one seems to be aware of this thoroughly enjoyable band - we hope to change that in some modest fan.
Showstar have an intense gathering of quietly, heartbreakingly profound pop songs draped in lush, gilded sonic tapestries that are so easy to listen to here. There is no a weak song here as just when a few songs get beautifully sleepy, they kick back in the upbeat, rocking pop groovies of classic British-styled rock ala Supergrass and Blur. A Great Discovery!". Very pleasant and very different from what we could read in our "so charming" national press !
