The band and their label anorak supersport are very proud to let you know the remix contest’s results. The winner is Stephane Boulanger (Stefanger’s happy pop mix) from Paris. The runner’s up are Lucas Javier Vaccaro (Vaccaro mix) from Buenos Aires, Argentina and Misa B. (Misa Thing remix) from Mexico. These tracks will be released digitally and the winner will be offered a one-year Soundcould premium lite subscription. Anorak supersport will give to the first three remixers, a nice selection of cds.

You can download the sample pack here below and use this group to post your remix. You can also listen to the original mix at the same place. Please click on the links below ! This contest will close april the 30th 2011. The band and their label "anoraksupersport" will listen to and give the results on may the 10th on the band web site. The winner remix will be released digitally and the winner will be offered a one-year Soundcould premium lite subscription. The two others remixes will be released digitally. David Leloup et Fabrice Hubert (ex-claviériste de Tahiti 80) forment ce duo électro-pop français renforcé par les voix de Helena Noguerra, Sice (ex-Boo Radleys) et Jon Auer (The Posies) et la guitare de mark Gardener (ex-Ride). De "My trap" à "Supa vixen" en passant par "Pope of the pop", les deux chevaliers de l'espace synthétique livrent un joyeux ballet pop, avec quelques belles références kitsch.

101 ans après la traversée de la Manche, accomplie par Louis Blériot, aux commandes de son avion, les Yéyé remettent le couvert. Brillamment et talentueusement. Pas inconnus au bataillon, David Leloup et Fabrice Hubert, fiers esthètes de la Pop française avec un grand P comme lettre de noblesse, sont parvenus à creuser leur tunnel sous la Manche pour dresser un tableau entre les deux nations un tableau qui doit autant à Marcel Duchamp ou André Breton qu'à James Kirkwood.

At the office, we're listening since this morning the new single from Ye-Ye. "Pope of the pop" is a refreshing duet sung by Helena Noguerra and Simon "Sice" Rowbottom (singer of the Boo Radleys). This fucking great song is an excerpt from the second album from the duo of Rouen, available next week in digital and in the last really good record stores.

My Trap

Soyons brefs : My Trap est l’une des plus belles surprises entendues ces derniers mois. On attendait pas grand chose de ses auteurs : l’ex-claviériste de Tahiti 80 Fabrice Hubert et son comparse David Leloup avaient signé, en 2004, un disque bordélique, plaisant mais franchement dispensable (Two Brains For Feet). Or, Yéyé renait aujourd’hui sous la forme d’une improbable machine à tubes, nés d’un mariage joliment réarrangé entre sons synthétiques et notes organiques, fulgurances live et calibrage métronomique. Banal sur le papier. Dans les oreilles, c’est une autre limonade. Si Hubert et Leloup forment l’ossature de Yéyé, ce noyau dur reste ouvert à tous les vents rafraichissants. Le tandem est épaulé par l’ex-Boo Radleys Sice, Mark Gardener (ex-Ride), Jon Auer (The Posies), Helena Noguerra, La Maison Tellier, Wilfried Schaeffer (Maarten) ou encore Clément Daquin (Alb). Malgré tout, My Trap n’est pas un disque de producteurs à featurings façon UNKLE ou Death In Vegas. Réellement impliqué, Sice cosigne plus de la moitié des titres, promène son sourire mélodieux au milieu de basses vrombissantes et de claviers kaléidoscopiques (le tube éponyme en ouverture), évoque à notre bon souvenir les Allemands Miles (Heroine), une éventuelle reformation d’Electronic (So Long), convoque Saint-Etienne ou Eggstone (la cuivrée Pope Of The Pop, portée par le tandem Helena-Sice). Ailleurs, Jon Auer prend la parole sur Comin’At Night, prière rétrofuturiste pour nef digitale aux lointains échos du Synthetizers In The Rain de Denim. Enfin, citons Understand, perdu entre claviers cheesy et guitares atmosphériques – les mêmes qui brouillent My Story ou Oxford 3am, hommage à la ville de Mark Gardener, qui tient le manche acoustique de Supa Vixen, modèle de pop éclatée et multicolore. Cet impeccable florilège parsème les clins d’œil aux vieux amis, les coups de coude à la concurrence et déploie son insolente exubérance avec une classe insouciante. My Trap est de ces pièges dans lesquels on tombe volontiers, certain d’y trouver la perfection.

Second album (08/23/2007)

The least that we can write is that the tapes of
the forthcoming album of the guys from Rouen will have made a lot of miles… In fact, they left Rouen towards Brussels, to take the eurostar towards Oxford and then the thalys towards Paris for finally be back calmly in High-Normandy. There, they will be edited while waiting peacefully to be mixed. If everything goes well, the album would be released before the end of the year. About guests, let's point out the presence of Sice (ex-boo-radleys's singer) and Helena (the sister of Lio).
